A Longer Treat for Longer-Lasting Enjoyment

Our Long Kangaroo Jerky has been specially selected to give dogs a more satisfying, longer-lasting treat experience.

With an average length of approximately 35 cm, these generous strips provide more chewing time than smaller pieces of jerky. They are ideal for dogs that enjoy settling down and gradually working through a naturally delicious treat.

Nutritional Information

Naturally Rich in Protein

Kangaroo meat is naturally lean and rich in high-quality animal protein. Protein provides essential amino acids that help support:

  • healthy muscles;
  • normal growth and tissue maintenance;
  • everyday energy and activity;
  • healthy skin and coat; and
  • the body’s normal repair processes.

Our kangaroo jerky is intended as a supplementary treat and should be fed alongside a complete and balanced diet.

Naturally Occurring Vitamins and Minerals

Kangaroo meat naturally contains a range of nutrients, including:

Iron

Iron contributes to the normal formation of haemoglobin, which carries oxygen through the blood and around the body.

Zinc

Zinc supports normal immune function, skin health, coat condition and tissue maintenance.

Vitamin B3 — Niacin

Niacin helps the body release and use energy from food while contributing to normal nervous-system and skin function.

Vitamin B6 — Pyridoxine

Vitamin B6 is involved in protein and amino-acid metabolism. It also contributes to normal red-blood-cell production and nervous-system function.

Vitamin B12 — Cobalamin

Vitamin B12 helps support normal cell function, red-blood-cell formation and the healthy functioning of the nervous system.

The exact nutritional content of a finished dried product can vary according to the meat, cut, preparation method and moisture content. Specific nutrient amounts or claims should only be made following laboratory analysis of the finished jerky.

Natural Chewing Enrichment

Chewing is an instinctive and rewarding behaviour for dogs. The longer size and chewy texture of our kangaroo jerky can help turn treat time into an enjoyable enrichment activity.

A long strip of jerky may:

  • provide mental stimulation;
  • keep dogs occupied for longer than a small treat;
  • help relieve boredom;
  • encourage focused and rewarding activity;
  • provide an appropriate outlet for natural chewing behaviour; and
  • create positive moments between dogs and their families.

The time taken to explore the aroma, hold the strip and work through its chewy texture adds to the pleasure and satisfaction of the treat.

How to Use

Serve It Long or Cut It Down

The generous length gives you the flexibility to serve the jerky in the way that best suits your dog.

It can be:

  • offered whole for a longer-lasting treat;
  • cut into shorter strips for small and medium dogs;
  • divided into bite-sized training rewards;
  • placed in suitable enrichment toys;
  • hidden for scent and searching games; or
  • portioned to help manage your dog’s treat intake.

For easier and safer cutting, use clean, strong kitchen scissors to portion the jerky before giving it to your dog. Always choose a piece appropriate for your dog’s size, age and chewing style.

Supporting Positive Training and Connection

Although designed as a longer-lasting treat, the jerky can easily be cut into smaller rewards for training.

Its natural aroma and flavour make it a useful high-value reward for:

  • reinforcing good behaviour;
  • recall training;
  • introducing new environments;
  • encouraging participation in grooming;
  • rewarding calm behaviour; and
  • building a positive connection between you and your dog.

Cutting one long piece into a number of smaller rewards allows your dog to enjoy more positive moments while helping you control the total amount fed.

Teeth and Chewing

The chewy texture encourages dogs to bite, tear and chew rather than simply swallowing the treat whole. This chewing action may provide light mechanical contact with the surface of the teeth and encourage saliva production.

However, kangaroo jerky is an enrichment and reward treat rather than a specially formulated dental product. It should not replace regular toothbrushing, veterinary dental examinations or approved dental-care products.

Safety Guidelines

Feeding and Safety Instructions

For safe and responsible treating:

  • always supervise your dog while eating;
  • choose or cut the jerky into a size appropriate for your dog;
  • prevent your dog from swallowing a long or oversized piece whole;
  • remove the final small piece if it presents a swallowing or choking risk;
  • provide fresh drinking water;
  • feed in moderation as part of a complete and balanced diet;
  • reseal the package after opening;
  • store according to the package directions; and
  • stop feeding and seek veterinary advice if your dog experiences an unexpected reaction.

Treats should make up no more than 10% of your dog’s daily calorie intake. The amount fed should be adjusted according to your dog’s size, activity level, health and overall diet.
